The Brief

To build a Koi pond out the front of the cattery and next to the car park. There was a previous hole dug in the proposed area, and the client already had bought the liner and filtration. This meant the pond had to be designed around the size of the liner and capacity of the filter unit. They had also purchased a set of Oase Jumping Jet Fountains which they would like to incorporate.

The Solution

We decided to build a formally shaped Koi pond of around 5000 gallons with a formal deck area made of recycled material and to use greys, blacks and whites as the colour scheme. The pond had a concrete base with block walls and a gravity filtration system. A header pond was also built as the client wanted a waterfall at one end also. This header pond would also act as a vegetable filter and would be planted.
